William Kincaid uses brilliant colors and generously sized canvases to create portraits of cherished pets. These large portraits are intended for display in prominent places in the home, office, and other locations.
He currently works in acrylics on canvas, but started out in professional painting work in 1976 as a custom motorcycle artist. The shop was called "Buzz's Psycles" and as the name implies, the work was at times on the edge of psychedelic.
Later, William designed and built some plastic molding equipment, and used it to start a costume manufacturing firm in partnership with his brother, where William worked as a costume designer and production manager. Many of the costumes he designed for major corporations and sports teams were first proposed using William's acrylic renderings on artist's board. William painted portraits of people, copies of classic paintings, and abstracts for his own collection and for others. When he painted a lifelong friend's ultra-gregarious and animated Boston Terrier several years ago, a dog he loves very dearly, he quickly became hooked on painting pets.
As a lifelong lover of animals, wild and domesticated, William believes in the humane and ethical treatment of all living creatures. William lives in the Saint Louis area with his wife and two great dogs. He will work from your description of your pet and photographs. Paintings start at $1000.
